Health minister says thanks to NCRHA COVID-19 ‘health care heroes’

Health­care work­ers as­signed to the Cau­ra Hos­pi­tal and the Ari­ma Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal re­ceived a spe­cial vis­it from Min­is­ter of Health Ter­rence Deyals­ingh, yes­ter­day, Mon­day 20th De­cem­ber 2021, as the min­is­ter be­gan a se­ries of vis­its to COVID-19 fa­cil­i­ties.

A state­ment from the Min­istry of Health says the Min­is­ter will be tour­ing COVID-19 health fa­cil­i­ties dur­ing the Christ­mas pe­ri­od, to per­son­al­ly thank and ex­tend Christ­mas greet­ings to a cross sec­tion of staff mem­bers from each de­part­ment.

Dur­ing his vis­it on Mon­day to two of the fa­cil­i­ties with­in the North Cen­tral Re­gion­al Health Au­thor­i­ty (NCRHA), Min­is­ter Deyals­ingh pre­sent­ed to­kens of ap­pre­ci­a­tion to staff as he ex­pressed his grat­i­tude and ap­pre­ci­a­tion for their sac­ri­fice and stead­fast com­mit­ment to car­ing for mem­bers of the pub­lic dur­ing the COVID-19 pan­dem­ic.

Ac­com­pa­ny­ing Min­is­ter Deyals­ingh on his walk­through was NCRHA Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer, Davlin Thomas, who de­scribed the health­care work­ers as “he­roes of Trinidad and To­ba­go” as he, too, paid trib­ute to them for their word dur­ing the pan­dem­ic.
