Five more peo­ple have died from COVID-19, push­ing up the na­tion­al death toll to 1,330 lives lost, ac­cord­ing to the lat­est up­date from the Min­istry of Health.

And in its up­date for to­day, Sun­day 5th Sep­tem­ber 2021, the Min­istry al­so re­ports that 227 peo­ple have test­ed pos­i­tive for the dis­ease, based on sam­ples tak­en be­tween Sep­tem­ber 1st and 4th 2021.

The Min­istry says these new pos­i­tive cas­es mean that at this time, there are 3,904 ac­tive cas­es of COVID-19 in the coun­try, a slight in­crease from Sat­ur­day’s fig­ure of 3,897 ac­tive cas­es.

The to­tal num­ber of pa­tients re­cov­er­ing from COVID-19 al­so has gone up—from 40,265 peo­ple on Sep­tem­ber 4th, to 40,480 peo­ple to­day, Sep­tem­ber 5th.

The na­tion­al vac­ci­na­tion pro­gramme con­tin­ues apace, with a to­tal of 413,096 per­sons hav­ing com­plet­ed a vac­ci­na­tion regime (name­ly, both dos­es of a two-dose regime and one dose of a sin­gle-dose regime).  Those who are par­tial­ly vac­ci­nat­ed—or who have re­ceived one dose of a two-dose regime—now stand at 521,770.

The Health Min­istry al­so notes in its up­date:

● 300 per­sons are still hos­pi­talised for COVID-19; up from 287 pa­tients on Sat­ur­day.

● 3,299 per­sons are in home self-iso­la­tion; down from 3,344 pa­tients on Sat­ur­day.

● 127 per­sons are in State quar­an­tine fa­cil­i­ties; down from 129 pa­tients on Sat­ur­day.

● 78 pa­tients are still re­cov­er­ing in step/down fa­cil­i­ties; down from 79 pa­tients on Sat­ur­day.
