The home of mur­dered for­mer po­lice of­fi­cer Arkim Bak­er was set on fire Sat­ur­day morn­ing.

Po­lice con­firmed no one was at home when the fire start­ed.

Fire of­fi­cials re­port­ed re­ceiv­ing a call about a house fire on Maraj Street, Quar­ry Road, San Juan, around 4 am. When they ar­rived, they found a two-storey con­crete house ablaze. Af­ter the fire was ex­tin­guished, they learned the prop­er­ty be­longed to Bak­er.  

Bak­er, a fa­ther of two, was shot in the chest by a masked gun­man while work­ing be­hind the counter at Bob­by’s Bar, Curepe, around 2 am on March 17.
