Six individuals have been convicted and sentenced for illegal entry into Trinidad and Tobago following their appearance before Senior Magistrate, Armina Deonarinesingh, at the San Fernando 3rd Magistrate Court.
The individuals, all of a foreign nationality, were charged on September 26, 2024, and after pleading guilty to the offences, were remanded until their sentencing yesterday, September 27, 2024.
The court handed down the following sentences: Jose Hernan Requena (Male), Greisabeth Jose Corvo Vargas (Female), Celina Elizabeth Valenzuela Martinez (Female), Bertina Holismar Duarte Gonzalez (Female), Gabriela Del Valle Vargas (Female), were convicted and fined $5,000.
In default of payment, will serve 30 days of simple imprisonment.
They were given two weeks to pay the fine.
While Keiderlin Veronica Mendoza Guedez (Female), was also convicted and fined $5,000.
In default of payment, she will serve 30 days of simple imprisonment. She has been given 30 days to pay the fine.
The TTPS says it will continue to collaborate with relevant authorities to ensure the safety and security of the nation by preventing unlawful entry and addressing such offences with the seriousness they deserve.
