The Industrial Court of Trinidad and Tobago has announced the appointment of His Honour Melvin Daniel as Chairman of the Essential Services Division.
The Court also announced the appointment of Their Honours Adrian Darmanie and Ashti Sookhan as Members of the General Services Division.
His Honour Melvin Daniel has served as a Member of the Industrial Court for over 11 years. He previously worked in the General Services Division and now assumes responsibility for the Essential Services Division. Before joining the Court, he had over 30 years of legal experience in Trinidad and Tobago. He served as a Magistrate in the Judiciary, Senior State Counsel and State Prosecutor in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, and worked in private practice at T Malcolm Milne and Company. He also serves as an Associate Tutor at the Hugh Wooding Law School.
His Honour Adrian Darmanie has practised as an attorney-at-law for over 34 years. He served in the Magistracy as a Magistrate, Senior Magistrate and Acting Deputy Chief Magistrate. He also worked as State Counsel III in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and as Senior State Counsel in the Solicitor General’s Department within the Ministry of the Attorney General. He previously worked in private practice and with the National Housing Authority.
Her Honour Ashti Sookhan previously served as a Legal Officer in the Ministry of Labour and Small and Micro Enterprise Development. She represented the Ministry before the Industrial Court and High Court.
The Court said the appointments took effect.
