An inquest has been ordered into the death of 27-year-old Michael Angelo Francis, who was fatally stabbed in Port of Spain earlier this month.
Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions Sabrina Dougdeen-Jaglal directed that the inquest be held following a review of the investigation. The decision was made on Friday, 10th October, 2025.
Francis sustained a single stab wound to the chest on 5th October, 2025, and died the same day at the Port of Spain General Hospital.
The female suspect who was detained in connection with the incident has been released pending the outcome of the inquest.
Investigations were supervised by Acting Assistant Superintendent Ramjag, Acting Inspectors Stanislaus, Seecharan, and Ramsumair of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region One, in collaboration with other agencies.
WPC Grant, also of HBI Region One, is the complainant in the matter.
