Tobago’s newest political party, Tobago’s People’s Party, led by interim political leader Farley Augustine is expected to host an internal elections soon.
Speaking on a morning show on the island yesterday, Augustine said the executive is expected to meet by the end of January to discuss and set an election date.
The party was formed in April last year, almost a year after all members of the Progressive Democratic Patriots resigned from the party.
This mass resignation came after a public fallout between PDP political leader Watson Duke in 2022.
He said the party completed its Elections and Boundaries Commission registration last year and released its constitution for review soon after.
