Miss Uni­verse Trinidad and To­ba­go 2024 is Jenelle Thongs. She will rep­re­sent T&T at the 73rd Miss Uni­verse com­pe­ti­tion in Sep­tem­ber in Mex­i­co City, where del­e­gates from over 130 oth­er coun­tries are ex­pect­ed to par­tic­i­pate.

Thongs, Miss Mor­vant, was cho­sen on Sun­day evening at the Queen’s Hall, St Ann’s, where 11 con­tes­tants made their fi­nal struts for the crown.

The night’s ten­sion be­came pal­pa­ble as the top three were an­nounced - Miss Mor­vant, Miss Man­zanil­la (Ki­moy-Ann Felmine), and Miss Laven­tille (Athali­ah Samuel).

As Miss Mor­vant and Miss Man­zanil­la await­ed the fi­nal re­sult that would change their lives, they closed their eyes and held each oth­er’s hands, hop­ing their name would be called.
It was Thongs who was an­nounced the win­ner. She was in­stant­ly met with loud cheers and ap­plause from the au­di­ence.

Af­ter re­ceiv­ing the crown on stage, the teary-eyed queen placed her hand on her chest be­fore rais­ing it up, thank­ing God for the vic­to­ry.

The first run­ner-up was Felmine (Miss Man­zanil­la) and sec­ond run­ner-up was Samuel (Miss Laven­tille).

Last year’s Miss Uni­verse T&T was Faith Gillezeau.

Thongs is the for­mer Supra­na­tion­al T&T, holds a BSc in Bi­ol­o­gy from the Uni­ver­si­ty of the West In­dies and cur­rent­ly man­ages a den­tal clin­ic. Thongs has al­so nabbed eight oth­er ti­tles, in­clud­ing Miss Car­ni­val T&T 2013, Miss Beau­ty T&T 2016 and Miss Her­itage In­ter­na­tion­al 2016.
Oth­er con­tes­tants who copped awards on the night were Miss Tu­na­puna Leana Shende (Miss Per­son­al­i­ty) and Miss Ch­agua­nas, Make­da Browne-Elias (Most Im­proved and Voice of Change).
