In a re­sponse to the Cab­i­net reshuf­fle, Op­po­si­tion Leader Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar said Dr Kei­th Row­ley has cho­sen to reshuf­fle what she called his fail­ing ad­min­is­tra­tion on the eve of the elec­tion year.

Per­sad-Bisses­sar said over the last four years Trinidad and To­ba­go has been plagued by mis­man­age­ment and in­com­pe­tence of this Row­ley regime. It is the height of irony that af­ter four years of gov­ern­ing with­out a plan Kei­th Row­ley has now as­signed him­self the port­fo­lio as Min­is­ter of Plan­ning.”

She added, “While the cit­i­zens of our na­tion have been wait­ing for the Gov­ern­ment to pub­licly ad­dress the is­sues of chron­ic wa­ter short­ages, ris­ing un­em­ploy­ment, the spread of H1N1 and of course the fact that our mur­der rate for the year is now the sec­ond-high­est in our his­to­ry; Kei­th Row­ley has in­stead re­spond­ed with su­per­fi­cial and mean­ing­less changes, to the very re­al prob­lems fac­ing our coun­try.”

The Op­po­si­tion Leader said as the na­tion heads in­to a new year and new decade it is clear that Kei­th Row­ley is firm­ly set con­tin­u­ing his old way of work­ing; blam­ing every­one else for his own fail­ings.

She added, “For­tu­nate­ly 2020 will be a year of change and hope for Trinidad and To­ba­go, as the peo­ple of our na­tion will de­liv­er the ul­ti­mate cab­i­net reshuf­fle and re­move this en­tire in­com­pe­tent Kei­th Row­ley gov­ern­ment.”
