American R&B singer Keyshia Cole revealed that she was only asked to perform three songs at last evening's R&B Brunch Festival at Queen’s Park Savannah in Port of Spain.
Her explanation, posted to her Instagram Stories, came after many attendees took to social media to criticise her short performance at the event on Saturday.
One X user wrote, "Moment of prayer for the people who waited 3 hours in Queen’s Park Savannah for Keyshia Cole... (she left after two songs)."
Tickets for the event were priced at $500 for the courtyard, $800 to $1,800 for the garden brunch experience depending on the tier, and $1,300 for the terrace brunch experience. Couples’ tickets cost $2,000.
During her trip, the singer known for mega-hits such as Love, I Should’ve Cheated, and Let It Go was also seen visiting KFC at MovieTowne.
Jamaican dancehall artiste Dexta Daps also performed at the event.
Guardian Media reached out to organiser Kwesi “Hypa Hoppa” Hopkinson of SCORCH for a comment and we are still awaiting a response.
