23-year-old Nigel Mohammed of Pemberton Street, La Romaine will appear virtually at the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court today. He was charged with wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition. Details follow in this press release from the TTPS:
NIGEL MOHAMMED of Pemberton Street, La Romaine is scheduled to appear virtually at the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court today. He was charged for the following offences:
1. Wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm
2. Possession of a firearm
3. Possession of ammunition
The 23-year-old was arrested following an incident that took place on September 10th, 2021. Around 10 pm the suspect was at a residence in La Romaine when he allegedly had a heated argument with a 16-year-old male. The two were separated by other persons present at the home and the suspect left. Later that evening, while asleep, the victim was allegedly accosted by three assailants and shot. He sustained a wound to his left leg and was taken for treatment at the San Fernando General Hospital.
PC Ascevero continued enquiries into the incident which led to the arrest and charge of the suspect. The investigation was spearheaded by Snr Supt Lucia Winchester, ASP Ramdass, and Insp Phillip.
