A 29-year-old labour­er was fa­tal­ly shot in St. Mar­garet’s Vil­lage, Clax­ton Bay, on Tues­day night just a short dis­tance from the po­lice sta­tion.

Kendell Doolal, of Up­per Hill­side, San Fer­nan­do, and Gopaul Lands, Mara­bel­la, was re­port­ed­ly try­ing to make his way to the sta­tion when he was killed.

Po­lice said that some­time be­fore 8 p.m., Doolal was dri­ving his gold Maz­da 3 along Ojer Dri­ve in St. Mar­garet’s when a gun­shot rang out.

Short­ly af­ter, he was seen run­ning out of the street to­ward the po­lice sta­tion, but he col­lapsed along the main road and died.

Two peo­ple who wit­nessed the in­ci­dent ran in­to the sta­tion min­utes lat­er to alert the of­fi­cers. When po­lice re­spond­ed, they found Doolal’s life­less body ly­ing about 100 feet away from his ve­hi­cle.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors re­cov­ered one spent 9mm shell cas­ing at the scene. Of­fi­cers of the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions, Re­gion 3, are con­tin­u­ing in­quiries.
