A 35-year-old labour­er was found dead along Pi­paro Road, Tabaquite, on Thurs­day af­ter­noon, af­ter res­i­dents re­port­ed hear­ing gun­shots in the area.

Brent Car­lon Bo­lah left his home around 11.50 am rid­ing his bi­cy­cle. An hour lat­er, a neigh­bour alert­ed his rel­a­tives that he had been found ly­ing mo­tion­less on the road­way not far from his home.

When emer­gency re­spon­ders ar­rived at the scene around 12.50 pm, they found Bo­lah’s body on the road next to a bi­cy­cle. He had vis­i­ble in­juries to the head and was clad in a white blood-stained jer­sey and dark-coloured pants.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors re­cov­ered sev­er­al items from the scene, in­clud­ing what ap­peared to be parts of a spent shot­gun car­tridge, pel­lets, and two mo­bile phones be­long­ing to the de­ceased.
