Latest COVID-19 deaths are 2 elderly men, 1 elderly woman with comorbidities

This coun­try’s COVID-19 death toll now stands at 1,416 fol­low­ing con­fir­ma­tion from the Min­istry of Health that three more peo­ple have lost their lives to the dis­ease—two of whom were el­der­ly males and one el­der­ly fe­male—all with co­mor­bidi­ties.  

How­ev­er, the Min­istry re­ports a drop in the num­ber of new in­fec­tions, with 123 peo­ple test­ing pos­i­tive for the dis­ease, com­pared with 257 re­port­ed on Sep­tem­ber 18th.  The new pos­i­tive cas­es are based on sam­ples tak­en be­tween Sep­tem­ber 15th and 18th and mean that there are now 4,048 ac­tive cas­es of COVID-19 in the coun­try, at this time.

There have been sev­er­al re­cov­er­ies, with 33 per­sons hav­ing been dis­charged from pub­lic health fa­cil­i­ties.  In ad­di­tion, there have been 124 re­cov­ered com­mu­ni­ty cas­es, name­ly those per­sons who pre­vi­ous­ly were COVID-19 pos­i­tive and in self-iso­la­tion at home, who sub­se­quent­ly met the dis­charge cri­te­ria and were re­leased from self-iso­la­tion.

Al­so in its up­date for to­day, Sun­day 19 Sep­tem­ber 2021, the Min­istry notes that cur­rent­ly, some 463,504 peo­ple in the coun­try are ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed, from ei­ther a one-dose or two-dose regime.

And some 558,486 peo­ple have re­ceived their first dos­es of a COVID-19 vac­cine, as of to­day, Fri­day, the Min­istry’s up­date re­ports.

The Health Min­istry al­so notes in its up­date:

● 280 per­sons are still hos­pi­talised for COVID-19; up from 277 pa­tients on Sat­ur­day.

● 3,585 per­sons are in home self-iso­la­tion; up from 3,491 pa­tients on Sat­ur­day.

● 150 per­sons are in State quar­an­tine fa­cil­i­ties; no change from 150 pa­tients on Sat­ur­day.

● 60 pa­tients are still re­cov­er­ing in step/down fa­cil­i­ties; no change from 60 pa­tients on Sat­ur­day.
