A Laven­tille man be­came the 51st mur­der vic­tim for the year af­ter he was shot and left for dead in some bush­es on Fri­day morn­ing.

The de­ceased was lat­er iden­ti­fied as Ar­sham Har­ris of Dan Kel­ly, Pic­ton Road, Laven­tille.

Emer­gency Health Ser­vices were no­ti­fied around 3.50 am on Sat­ur­day, that a man was seen ly­ing in some bush­es.

Up­on ar­rival, per­son­nel dis­cov­ered an un­re­spon­sive Har­ris, who had been clad in a red jer­sey and jeans, ly­ing face down with mul­ti­ple gun­shot wounds about the body.

The Dis­trict Med­ical Of­fi­cer was sum­moned and pro­nounced Har­ris dead at the scene.

Near­by res­i­dents claimed Har­ris was a men­tal pa­tient.
