For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love, and of sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).” This was the prayer in part, international certified events manager and founder and CEO of Royal-T (RT) Events, Tricia Mohan-Volney extended on social media and in person to the students who completed the SEA examination on March 31, before they did.
“Some attended my dining etiquette classes, and I know the mind Timothy speaks of; they all can do well if we show them love.”
Less than one year ago, Mohan-Volney engaged British etiquette expert and part of the Royal household, and former butler to His Royal Highness, Prince Charles and HRM Dutchess of Cornwall, Grant William Veitch Harrold, in a one-on-one online etiquette activity.
RT Events is a local organisation that operates out of Champs Fleurs, San Juan, and Gopaul Lands, Marabella, noted for respecting and embracing diversity, offering varied programmes in etiquette and fine dining, with key focus on children.
“We at Royal-T pride ourselves in the finest, and take pleasure in imparting essential life skills which is an arm of love, to all our students, despite race/ethnicity, nationality, religion, complexion, or living condition. We are thrilled to announce the return of our signature Formal Dining Etiquette Training Event.
Come April 9 from 10am to 3:30pm, children six to 16 will be educated and empowered on the rudiments of dining etiquette, formal table setting, napkin and soup etiquette, and the Continental and American styles of dining.
Lunch and beverages (hot and cold) will be served, seeing participants convert what they learned into actual real-life practice. Social graces and Afternoon Tea etiquette are components of the interactive and fun-packed afternoon session. Tea is served following which, the students will engage in a special related activity.
With professional pictures taken by house photographer, Jonathan Albert, as part of the package, parents have the option to have their child’s pictures taken in the formal dining room. At the end of the session, students are supervised and taken out to the garden grounds for impressive interaction with each other until their parents return.
Royal-T was founded six years ago, 2016, and they stride towards becoming the premier authority for imparting the art of dining etiquette and social graces to children throughout the country.
Mohan-Volney explained, as restrictions have been lifted, RT plans to host an annual Formal Dining event for past students at a premier hotel restaurant, where an affordable three-course meal can be realised, as many children are not given that opportunity. RT looks towards corporate sponsorship.
Mother of two sons, Mohan-Volney is a former banker; degree holder in Management and Industrial & Organizational studies with the University of New Brunswick as facilitated by ROYTEC; Real Estate and Construction professional, certified in Events Management from the George Washington University; and certified in Business Etiquette & Protocol, Formal Dining Etiquette and Wedding Planning from the Etiquette School of Florida.
After her plush nine-year banking career, she sailed higher benefitting from the Royal Caribbean Cruise line where she sailed the high seas of Russia and the Baltic, Eastern & Western Mediterranean, Eastern & Western Caribbean, Alaska and the Pacific Coast, and the level of etiquette she experienced opened up her eyes even wider, but her seed of Formal Dining Etiquette Training was planted after she became horrified while in attendance at a formal dinner with the crème de la crème of society in Trinidad.
“To my horror, I observed many faux-pas by those who should have known better!”
Carrying the brand, Royal-T, Mohan-Volney’s inspired by profound philosophy that helps her to both forge ahead with new and better initiatives and to motivate others to do same.
“Don’t start your day with the broken pieces of yesterday. Every day is a fresh start. Each day is a new beginning. Every morning we wake up, it’s the first day of our new life” (idlehearts.com), and “at Royal-T, it’s our utmost pleasure to take participants from beginners’ basics to refined end product – the first day of their new life.”
