An unidentified man was fatally gunned down in Ben Lomond Village, Williamsville Saturday night.
According to police reports, the 72-year-old resident was at home when around 8.45 pm he heard two loud explosions.
When he checked outside, he saw a man lying on his back on the side of the road.
He called the police and when officers arrived at the scene they found the man bleeding on the road and gasping for breath.
He had gunshot wounds to his face and head.
An Emergency Health Services ambulance took the victim to the San Fernando General Hospital where he died around 10.15 pm.
Police said the victim was of mixed descent, slim built, light brown complexion, approximately 5’8” tall wearing a polka dot shirt, blue long jeans and white sneakers.
Investigators retrieved a cellphone, cap and $156 at the scene and a wallet containing a gold chain, TT$303, US$1 and a bMobile card.
A piece of paper bearing a man’s name was found in the victim’s possession.
Officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigation Region 3 are investigating.
