A Port-of-Spain man was in­jured fol­low­ing a shoot­ing in Bel­mont ear­ly this morn­ing.

The 33-year-old was re­port­ed­ly dri­ving along Belle Eau Road, Bel­mont, around 5 a.m. to­day when a car with two gun­men sped past and opened fire on his ve­hi­cle.

In an at­tempt to es­cape, the dri­ver head­ed to the Port-of-Spain Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal while be­ing pur­sued.

The shoot­ers again fired at the vic­tim’s car in the vicin­i­ty of the Ma­ter­ni­ty Hos­pi­tal.

The vic­tim drove on­to the hos­pi­tal com­pound while in­jured and was at­tend­ed to by emer­gency per­son­nel.

He was lat­er ward­ed in sta­ble con­di­tion.
