In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing af­ter a man was found dead in a car un­der the Grand Bazaar Over­pass yes­ter­day morn­ing.

Po­lice iden­ti­fied the man as Vas­sanath Bhag­wan­deen, 60, of Main Road, Cara­po.

Of­fi­cers said Bhag­wan­deen was found slumped in the dri­ver’s seat of a blue Mit­subishi Lancer just af­ter 7 am yes­ter­day.

Po­lice be­lieve the Cara­po res­i­dent may have been wait­ing to pick up his wife, who is em­ployed at the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex, Mt Hope, when he suf­fered a heart at­tack and died.

An au­top­sy has been or­dered to as­cer­tain the ex­act cause of death.
