Po­lice are try­ing to iden­ti­fy a man who was found dead in a veg­etable plot in Va­len­cia on Tues­day.

The dead man was re­port­ed­ly dis­cov­ered around 11 am on June 24, by the 43-year-old farmer.

The man told po­lice he had gone to the par­cel of land which he oc­cu­pies at Mack Trace, Va­len­cia and up­on ar­rival, he saw the stranger sit­ting in a chair un­der a gal­vanised shed, with his head lean­ing to the right.

The de­ceased who is of African de­scent, medi­um built, slight­ly bald and dark brown in com­plex­ion; was said to be ap­prox­i­mate­ly five feet ten inch­es tall, with a short grey beard and had been clad in a blue T-shirt and dark blue jeans and black slip­pers.

Al­though no marks of vi­o­lence were seen on the body or foul play de­tect­ed, the Dis­trict Med­ical Of­fi­cer or­dered a post-mortem to as­cer­tain the ex­act cause of death.
