A 33-year-old Paria man was gunned down as he sat in his car in out­side his Gomez Trace home on Fri­day night.

Po­lice said Javed Omardeen was sit­ting in the dri­ver’s side seat of his white Hon­da Civic which was parked in his dri­ve­way at around 7.15 pm when he was shot sev­er­al times.

Res­i­dents heard the gun­shots and called the po­lice.

Of­fi­cers of the Blan­chisseuse Po­lice Sta­tion and the North East­ern Di­vi­sion vis­it­ed the scene with a dis­trict med­ical of­fi­cer who de­clared Omardeen dead.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors said Omardeen ap­peared to have sev­er­al gun­shot wounds to his chest. Po­lice said they had no mo­tive for the mur­der as of this morn­ing as Omardeen was not known to them. Re­gion II Homi­cide in­ves­ti­ga­tors are con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.
