A 25-year-old man is hospitalised after he was shot while riding his bicycle near a vegetable stall in Rio Claro on Thursday night.
Reports state that around 9 p.m., Fared Mohammed was riding through Union Village when he heard a loud explosion and immediately felt a burning sensation in his back.
Despite his injury, Mohammed managed to ride home, where he discovered he had been shot. He was quickly taken to the Mayaro Health Facility for emergency medical attention.
Guardian Media understands that doctors were able to remove one bullet before transferring Mohammed to the Sangre Grande Hospital for further treatment.
Rio Claro police are investigating.
