A man working on the Immigration Division building on Henry Street, Port-of-Spain, was shot and killed yesterday.
The victim has been identified only as Kerry of Fatima Trace, Laventille.
Guardian Media understands that just after 5 pm, a man walked up to a group of approximately six men working on the building and asked for a phone call.
The men said they told him that they had no credit, and that was when he pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the head.
One eyewitness said he started running across New Street when he saw officers parked by the Port-of-Spain Prison and alerted them.
The officers cordoned off the area as Crime Scene Investigators searched for evidence.
Investigations are ongoing.
