Man killed while riding bicycle in Santa Cruz

A man killed in San­ta Cruz on Tues­day af­ter­noon has been iden­ti­fied as Ben­jamin Em­manuel.

The 30-year-old, of Sam Bou­caud Road, was shot mul­ti­ple times around 4.15 pm, at Tap­pin Street, off Stollmey­er Road, Can­taro Vil­lage.

He was re­port­ed­ly rid­ing a bi­cy­cle, when a car pulled along­side and the oc­cu­pants opened fire on him.

Two oth­er men who were walk­ing along the street were in­jured dur­ing the shoot­ing.

A 35-year-old of Tap­pin Street was shot in the right thigh and left but­tock; while a 71-year-old of Jig­ga Hill was shot in the left heel.

The younger vic­tim re­mained hos­pi­talised in a sta­ble con­di­tion yes­ter­day, while the el­der one was treat­ed and dis­charged on Tues­day night.

A to­tal of 15 spent shell cas­ings were re­cov­ered at the scene.
