A man was killed instantly, with several vehicles driving over him when he was knocked down on Wednesday night.
Police said around 9 pm, the man, whose identity remained unknown up to late yesterday, was struck by a motorist along the the eastbound lane of the Churchill Roosevelt Highway, near the Golden Grove Intersection.
The 20-year-old driver from Arima told police he did not see the man, who he claimed seemingly walked into the path of oncoming traffic.
After the man was struck and fell to the ground, other motorists drove over his body as they were unable to stop in time.
Meanwhile, the president of Arrival Alive, Sharon Inglefield, has called for a review of the speed limit for main roads.
