A 39-year-old Bel­mont man has been grant­ed $650,000 bail af­ter be­ing charged with two counts of pos­ses­sion of stolen ve­hi­cles.

He ap­peared be­fore Mas­ter Kim­i­tria Gray at the Port of Spain Mag­is­trates’ Court on April 7. The charges stem from the dis­cov­ery of two stolen Ford Rangers at an au­to garage in the Bel­mont area on March 10.

Po­lice said both ve­hi­cles had tam­pered chas­sis num­bers and were traced to sep­a­rate rob­bery in­ci­dents—one in Mara­bel­la in­volv­ing rob­bery with ag­gra­va­tion, and the oth­er in Ch­agua­nas tied to rob­bery with vi­o­lence.

The mat­ter has been ad­journed to April 16 and trans­ferred to the Port of Spain 11th Mag­is­trates’ Court.
