A 39-year-old Belmont man has been granted $650,000 bail after being charged with two counts of possession of stolen vehicles.
He appeared before Master Kimitria Gray at the Port of Spain Magistrates’ Court on April 7. The charges stem from the discovery of two stolen Ford Rangers at an auto garage in the Belmont area on March 10.
Police said both vehicles had tampered chassis numbers and were traced to separate robbery incidents—one in Marabella involving robbery with aggravation, and the other in Chaguanas tied to robbery with violence.
The matter has been adjourned to April 16 and transferred to the Port of Spain 11th Magistrates’ Court.
