A 42-year-old Mor­vant man was robbed of two gold chains val­ued at an es­ti­mat­ed $70,000 as he and his com­mon-law wife re­turned home ear­ly yes­ter­day morn­ing.

Po­lice said the cou­ple were about to en­ter their Al­mond Court apart­ment at around 3.30 am when they were con­front­ed by two ban­dits, one of whom had a gun.

One of the ban­dits stole the man’s gold chains, his cell­phone and the keys to his car, be­fore run­ning away.

Of­fi­cers of the Mor­vant CID and the Po­lice Cy­ber Crime Unit are con­tin­u­ing in­quiries.
