Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the theft of a gold Cuban link chain that is worth an es­ti­mat­ed US $20,000 from a US na­tion­al in Ch­agua­nas on Fri­day morn­ing.

Po­lice said the 28-year-old man re­turned to his En­deav­our Road home around 11.40 am when he was con­front­ed by two men who de­mand­ed valu­ables.

One of the ban­dits snatched the man's chain which led to a fight with his at­tack­ers.

The ban­dits beat the man be­fore get­ting in­to a sil­ver Nis­san Note which drove off.

Of­fi­cers of the Ch­agua­nas CID are con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.
