A man from Cara­pichaima was al­leged­ly shot and wound­ed dur­ing a po­lice-in­volved shoot­ing in Tal­paro on Fri­day night.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, at about 10.20 pm PC Ma­habir and PC Her­nan­dez re­spond­ed to a mat­ter along the Tal­paro Main Road in Tal­paro. Up­on ar­rival, they saw a few men stand­ing at the side of the road. As they ex­it­ed the marked po­lice ve­hi­cle, Her­nan­dez al­leged­ly saw one of the men pull out a firearm from his waist and point­ed it at them.

Her­nan­dez fired one 9mm round from his ser­vice pis­tol hit­ting the sus­pect in the left up­per thigh. When po­lice re­trieved the weapon, they dis­cov­ered it was an im­i­ta­tion firearm.

The wound­ed man was tak­en to the Ari­ma Health Fa­cil­i­ty by the of­fi­cers where he was treat­ed.
