Jerome Wick­ham, 23, was shot dead near his home in Cou­va on Tues­day.

Wick­ham, of Gil­da Street, Lisas Boule­vard, was among a group of peo­ple lim­ing at the rear of an apart­ment build­ing at Annabelle Street, Lisas Boule­vard, at 9.50 pm on Tues­day when sev­er­al gun­shots were fired.
 Wick­ham was hit sev­er­al times, col­lapsed and died on the ground. 
  Crime scene in­ves­ti­ga­tors re­cov­ered three spent 9 mm shells and a live 9 mm round at the scene. While po­lice sus­pect the shoot­ing may have been drug re­lat­ed, they con­firmed that Wick­ham did not have a crim­i­nal record.

When con­tact­ed on her cell­phone, Wick­ham’s moth­er de­clined to com­ment. 

Of­fi­cers of the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion and Homi­cide Re­gion 3 re­spond­ed and in­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing. —Sascha Wil­son
