A Maraval man who stopped to answer a call on his cell phone along Nelson Street in Port-of-Spain on Saturday night, was shot twice by gunmen.
The 41-year-old man of Saddle Road in Maraval, was driving down the street around 9:30 pm on December 27, when he received a call and decided to stop near South East Port-of-Spain Secondary School to answer the phone.
He saw two armed men approaching his car.
The victim attempted to speed off as the gunmen shot at him.
He later realised he had been shot in the right calf and left hand and drove himself to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope, where he was treated and discharged.
