Man stabbed, injured, by ex's new boyfriend

A 37-year-old man is in sta­ble con­di­tion af­ter he crashed his car af­ter be­ing at­tacked by the cur­rent boyfriend of his ex-girl­friend on Wednes­day af­ter­noon. 

Po­lice said the man got in­to his sil­ver Toy­ota Aqua at the cor­ner of Brun­ton and Quam­i­na Street, St James, when he was con­front­ed by his at­tack­er, who was hold­ing a knife.

The man was stabbed sev­er­al times by the sus­pect as they strug­gled for con­trol of the knife. 

The sus­pect even­tu­al­ly es­caped, as the wound­ed man got back in the car and drove to the St James Med­ical Cen­tre, where he crashed his car. 

The wound­ed man was tak­en to an­oth­er hos­pi­tal where he re­mained ward­ed.

Of­fi­cers of the St James CID are con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.
