Police are trying to identify the body of a man whose body was dumped at a cemetery in Morvant on Friday morning.
Police said Morvant police received a report of a body at the Mountain View Cemetery, on Angelene Street, around 7.15 am.
Officers visited the scene and were led to some bushes where they found the body of the man wearing a white vest, a pair of blue jeans, one side of black Nike sneakers on his right foot and a white plastic bag covering his head.
The man’s hands were tied behind his back and the feet were tied with black and white plastic bag.
Investigators said the body appeared to be in the early stages of decomposition.
Police from the Barataria CID and the Region II Homicide Bureau also visited the scene with a district medical officer who declared the man dead.
Police from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region II are continuing enquiries.
