A Marabella man is now dead after gunmen opened fire on him on Sunday night while he was liming at the home of a neighbour.
Police said 37-year-old Rennie “Shampoo” Babwah, a fisherman of Battoo Boulevard, was under the home of another resident along the train line at East Bayshore, around 7.05 pm, when he was shot multiple times.
The homeowner told police he was inside when he heard a volley of gunshots. Shortly after, he saw Babwah’s bloody body on the ground under his house.
Investigators retrieved 32 spent 9 mm casings.
The shooting was the second murder in Marabella within two days. Curban “Ban” James, 48, a welder from West Bayshore, Marabella, was fatally shot by three masked men around 11 pm on Friday near a minimart in his neighbourhood. James had earlier been involved in an altercation with another resident.
Investigators found 15 spent 9 mm shells, a pistol magazine loaded with 14 rounds of ammunition, and two more rounds of ammunition at that scene.
