Ma­yaro MP Rush­ton Paray wants to re­name the Ma­yaro Li­brary to the Michael An­tho­ny Ma­yaro Li­brary to ho­n­our the in­deli­ble im­pact the au­thor and his­to­ri­an played in the com­mu­ni­ty.

MP Paray paid a heart­felt trib­ute to the late Michael An­tho­ny at his fu­ner­al ser­vice on Church Road, Ma­yaro.

The Ma­yaro MP ac­knowl­edged An­tho­ny's un­matched con­tri­bu­tions to the na­tion's lit­er­ary her­itage and na­tion­al con­scious­ness.

“While words may fall short, it is our du­ty to en­cap­su­late An­tho­ny’s life­long com­mit­ment to the art of writ­ing,” MP Paray stressed.

Of­fer­ing deep­est con­do­lences to the fam­i­ly and ad­mir­ers of An­tho­ny, he recog­nised the late au­thor and his­to­ri­an as a mon­u­men­tal fig­ure who for­ev­er linked glob­al ac­claim to lo­cal roots.

MP Paray al­so ad­vo­cat­ed for in­cor­po­rat­ing An­tho­ny’s works in­to the na­tion­al ed­u­ca­tion­al cur­ricu­lum to ben­e­fit fu­ture gen­er­a­tions.

Fur­ther pro­pos­als in­clud­ed the cre­ation of a Michael An­tho­ny Lit­er­ary Fes­ti­val, as well as a youth writ­ing com­pe­ti­tion to in­spire bud­ding writ­ers.

MP Paray urged cit­i­zens to con­tin­ue shar­ing An­tho­ny’s sto­ries, dis­sem­i­nat­ing his wis­dom, and striv­ing to­ward the vi­sion he had for our na­tion.

"May Michael An­tho­ny rest in eter­nal peace, se­cure in the knowl­edge that he has left an in­deli­ble mark on us all," MP Paray said.
