Political Leader of the Patriotic Front, Mickela Panday, has issued a statement conceding defeat in the 2025 General Election and congratulating the United National Congress (UNC) on its victory.
In the statement released on Tuesday, Panday expressed gratitude to supporters, acknowledging the contributions of those who participated in the party’s campaign across all 37 constituencies.
“Today, my heart is full, not with regret, but with gratitude,” she stated. “We didn’t have the biggest budgets or the loudest headlines. What we had was something far more powerful: people who dared to believe that change was worth fighting for.”
Although the party did not secure any seats, Panday emphasized the significance of the campaign effort and the support received. “We built something that the polls cannot measure: a movement of courage, conviction, and hope,” she said.
Panday confirmed her continued commitment to public service, stating, “I stood for what I believe in, and because of you, I stood taller and I will continue standing.”
She acknowledged the outcome of the election and
extended congratulations to the UNC, adding, “I wish every elected representative the wisdom and courage to serve our nation with the integrity our people deserve.”
The statement concluded with a message affirming the party’s continued engagement in national development, despite the electoral result.
