Minister of Education visits special schools

Min­is­ter of Ed­u­ca­tion Nyan Gads­by-Dol­ly and Min­is­ter in the Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion Lisa Mor­ris-Ju­lian, vis­it­ed three (3) Gov­ern­ment Spe­cial Schools to­day to hear from ad­min­is­tra­tors their suc­cess­es, chal­lenges and sug­ges­tions for im­prove­ment and plans in place for the term ahead.

Ac­com­pa­nied by of­fi­cials from the Min­istry, the Min­is­ters vis­it­ed the Cas­cade School for the Deaf, the Whar­ton-Patrick School and the Pointe-a-Pierre Gov­ern­ment Spe­cial School.

The vis­its al­lowed the Min­is­ters to view first-hand the fa­cil­i­ties where the ed­u­ca­tion of chil­dren with spe­cial needs are con­duct­ed, and to hear from the ad­min­is­tra­tors.

The Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion stat­ed that they will con­tin­ue to mon­i­tor schools as they en­ter the New Aca­d­e­m­ic Year in an ef­fort to en­sure that no child is left be­hind, or with­out eq­ui­table, ac­ces­si­ble and qual­i­ty ed­u­ca­tion.
