Minister Zakour visits Caroni Licensing Office in first official engagement

Eli Za­k­our, Min­is­ter of Trans­port and Civ­il Avi­a­tion, vis­it­ed the head of­fice of the Li­cens­ing Di­vi­sion at the Ca­roni Li­cens­ing Of­fice on Tues­day, 6 May 2025. The vis­it formed part of his ini­tial en­gage­ments since as­sum­ing of­fice.

Dur­ing the vis­it, Min­is­ter Za­k­our met with staff across var­i­ous de­part­ments and in­ter­act­ed with mem­bers of the pub­lic. He al­so con­vened a meet­ing with Trans­port Com­mis­sion­er Clive Clarke, Per­ma­nent Sec­re­tary So­nia Fran­cis-Year­wood, and oth­er se­nior ex­ec­u­tives. The meet­ing pro­vid­ed an overview of the op­er­a­tions of the Li­cens­ing Di­vi­sion.

Ac­cord­ing to the min­istry, the en­gage­ment sup­ports the Gov­ern­ment of Trinidad and To­ba­go’s on­go­ing man­date to stream­line ser­vice sec­tors, im­prove op­er­a­tional ef­fi­cien­cy, and en­hance cus­tomer ser­vice de­liv­ery.

At the end of the tour, Min­is­ter Za­k­our stat­ed his in­ten­tion to in­vest in the in­sti­tu­tion­al ca­pac­i­ty of the Li­cens­ing Di­vi­sion to sup­port na­tion­al de­vel­op­ment goals.
