David Lee, Minister of Housing, and Phillip Alexander, Minister in the Ministry, embarked on a tour of several housing development projects located in south, central, east and north Trinidad under the purview of the Housing Development Corporation (HDC).
The Ministers were accompanied by the Managing Director of HDC, Jayselle McFarlane and officials of its subsidiaries, along with technical teams and other key personnel. These tours form part of the Ministers’ wider familiarization efforts of the Ministry and its Agencies and, is designed to provide an insight into the progress of ongoing projects and programmes.
During the tour, the Ministers engaged directly with project managers, site engineers and contractors, observing the status of construction works, while gaining valuable updates on timelines, community impact, and infrastructure needs. The visits underscored the Ministry’s continued commitment to ensuring that housing solutions are delivered efficiently, sustainably, and in alignment with the national development agenda.
Both Ministers expressed their satisfaction with the progress of the works made thus far. “What we’ve seen today is encouraging,” noted Minister Lee. Minister Alexander echoed these sentiments, adding that the Ministry will continue to work closely with its agencies to implement strategic solutions that will benefit citizens across all communities.
The tour covered key regions across the country, beginning in South Trinidad, then moving through Central and East Trinidad, and concluding in Port of Spain.
