The 2025 edi­tion of the Na­tion­al Panora­ma Medi­um Con­ven­tion­al Bands Se­mi-Fi­nals has record­ed some of its high­est num­bered at­ten­dance in re­cent mem­o­ry dur­ing a Trinidad Car­ni­val sea­son, says the Min­istry of Tourism, Cul­ture & The Arts.

A re­lease from the Min­istry says the event, which was helmed by Pan Trin­ba­go and took place on Sun­day 16 Feb­ru­ary 2025 at the Queen’s Park Sa­van­nah in Port of Spain, host­ed “a stag­ger­ing 28,300 Steel­pan sup­port­ers”.

“The clear ap­petite and un­yield­ing ap­pre­ci­a­tion for the Steel­pan by the gen­er­al pub­lic is a sym­bol­ic re­flec­tion of Panora­ma as a gen­er­a­tional cul­tur­al sta­ple—a com­mu­ni­ty-dri­ven ex­pe­ri­ence in­volv­ing peo­ple from all walks of life,” said Sen­a­tor Ran­dall Mitchell, Min­is­ter of Tourism, Cul­ture and the Arts, who de­scribed the event as “well-or­gan­ised, well-man­aged and in­ci­dent-free”.

The fol­low­ing is a break­down of where the crowds were:

• North Stand – 5,100 per­sons

• Grand Stand – 4,100 per­sons

• Drag West – 13,000 per­sons (es­ti­mate)

• Greens – 4,100 per­sons

• Off-Stage – 2,000 per­sons (es­ti­mate)

Min­is­ter Mitchell al­so ex­tend­ed his grat­i­tude to all state agen­cies and pri­vate sec­tor part­ners in­volved in the on­go­ing ef­forts to en­sure that Car­ni­val 2025 is a safe and en­joy­able ex­pe­ri­ence for both res­i­dents and vis­i­tors.

Hail­ing this year’s event as in­ci­dent-free, he em­pha­sised that the suc­cess­ful plan­ning and lo­gis­tics would be im­pos­si­ble with­out a co­or­di­nat­ed, mul­ti-agency team ef­fort.

“As we move in­to the height of our world-class Trinidad Car­ni­val ex­pe­ri­ence in the com­ing days, I com­mend Pan Trin­ba­go Pres­i­dent Bev­er­ley Ram­sey-Moore for her in­no­v­a­tive lead­er­ship that con­tin­ues to reap big re­wards for the or­gan­i­sa­tion and the na­tion-at-large. Such ef­forts re­in­force the back­bone of Panora­ma in cel­e­brat­ing com­mu­ni­ties-in-ac­tion,” the Min­is­ter said.

He added: “To­geth­er, we re­main com­mit­ted to high­light­ing the dy­namism of our cul­ture to the world peren­ni­al­ly, while show­cas­ing the very best of ‘The Great­est Show On Earth’. This will al­ways be our na­tion­al prod­uct of pride and pur­pose.”

On Sat­ur­day 1 March 2025, the Queen’s Park Sa­van­nah will once again wel­come Steel­pan lovers from near and far, for the high­ly-an­tic­i­pat­ed Na­tion­al Panora­ma Fi­nals.
