A 28-year-old Rio Claro man was found dead, one day af­ter he was re­port­ed miss­ing.

Po­lice said of­fi­cers of the Mal­oney Po­lice Sta­tion re­ceived a re­port of gun­shots on Sap­phire Av­enue, at around 7.05 am

On reach­ing the scene of­fi­cers found the body of Nicholas Ed­wards bleed­ing from gun­shot wounds to his right armpit and left arm.

A dis­trict med­ical of­fi­cer was called in and de­clared Ed­wards dead at the scene.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors said Ed­wards was re­port­ed miss­ing on Thurs­day in Ma­yaro.

He is the son of a po­lice of­fi­cer.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors from the Re­gion II Homi­cide Bu­reau are con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.
