Montrose Government Primary School delivered an enchanting evening filled with festive cheer on Saturday night at Presentation College, Chaguanas, during a Christmas concert themed The Greatest Gift.

The concert showcased the extraordinary talents of its students, blending music, dance and heartwarming performances.

The programme began with a touching poem by the infants, setting the stage for the night’s spirit of love and joy. The audience was treated to captivating solos, including O Holy Night by Standard Two student Sienna Gobin and a stunning violin rendition of Silent Night by Standard 3’s Sahar Kaur Gill. Maya Seale, a Standard 4 pupil, charmed everyone with Santa Tell Me.

Maya Seale, a bright and confident 10-year-old Standard 4 pupil, had a message to the children of Trinidad and Tobago.

“Don’t let people tell you who you are. You go after your dreams,” she said.

Another standout was Standard 4’s Adam Ng Tang, who sang a heartfelt Christmas song.

Sharing his thoughts, he said, “Christmas means that the whole idea of Christmas is the birth of Jesus Christ, and it’s a time of gathering and giving. My message to kids around my age is that while we often focus on getting, we should also focus on giving. Whatever you may receive, be thankful for it because there’s always somebody less fortunate than you.”

Guest artiste Nishard “Nishard M” Mayhroo delivered an inspiring message to the students.

“You all have the greatest gift—your life ahead of you. With dedication and support from your parents and school, you can achieve greatness. Promise me tonight you’ll make them proud and grow up to be successful leaders.”

Soca artiste College Boy Jesse also reminded everyone of the true essence of Christmas.

“It’s a time for family, love and giving. Christ’s example teaches us to treat others with kindness and compassion. That’s the foundation of the season.”

Principal Ria Mahadeo-Sonny said the concert wasn’t just a showcase of talent, it was a celebration of community, love and the spirit of giving that defines the holiday season.

“This is the season to reflect on the blessings we have and share them with others. Our students are our greatest gift, and tonight, they have made us all proud,” she said.
