It’s pure BS! So said Unit­ed Na­tion­al Con­gress (UNC) deputy leader Dr Roodal Mooni­lal yes­ter­day, as he ac­cused the Peo­ple’s Na­tion­al Move­ment (PNM) of be­ing be­hind so­cial me­dia al­le­ga­tions of is­sues with Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar’s be­hav­iour and lead­er­ship of the par­ty—and he’s de­clared all UNC MPs are unit­ed be­hind her.

Oth­er MPs said the claims were “the prod­uct of some warped ... mis­chie­vous mind.”

Mooni­lal, via a state­ment, im­me­di­ate­ly rub­bished the claims, which sur­faced on so­cial me­dia on Tues­day night, say­ing it was re­veal­ing that po­lit­i­cal mis­chief was afoot by the Op­po­si­tion af­ter re­cent al­leged “drug mon­ey fund­ing” ac­cu­sa­tions.

“Hav­ing col­lapsed, af­ter be­ing dev­as­tat­ed in the re­cent Bud­get de­bates in the Low­er and Up­per Hous­es of Par­lia­ment, the PNM has re­turned to pro­pa­gan­da and pure BS,” he said.

“Cow­ard and name­less op­er­a­tives of the PNM are en­gag­ing in a fee­ble at­tempt to desta­bilise the strong and co­he­sive UNC ad­min­is­tra­tion, which has made tan­gi­ble im­prove­ments to the qual­i­ty of cit­i­zens’ lives in its first six months in of­fice. I as­sure the na­tion that we’re all unit­ed be­hind the hard­work­ing and vi­sion­ary Prime Min­is­ter Ho­n­ourable Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar. We’re in full sup­port of her coura­geous stand against drug car­tels, nar­co traf­fick­ers and hu­man traf­fick­ers.”

He added, “As a uni­fied and mo­ti­vat­ed team, we’ll con­tin­ue to de­liv­er to the na­tion...we equal­ly alert the na­tion to look out for fur­ther PNM-gen­er­at­ed tom­fool­ery as the UNC Gov­ern­ment ex­pos­es the gross fail­ings of the pre­vi­ous decade of non-per­for­mance.”

Al­so con­tact­ed on the post, Per­sad-Bisses­sar said,” Please add in­to your sto­ry that I al­so ‘lost a foot’, I ‘have a glass eye’, I’m on ‘dial­y­sis every day, I ‘live on a ven­ti­la­tor dai­ly’ and I’m ‘bedrid­den in a co­ma’ etc. This is just the usu­al em­bar­rass­ing pat­tern of Guardian Me­dia where anony­mous trolls put out fake news on so­cial me­dia and then Guardian Me­dia runs it on main­stream me­dia to spew fake PNM pro­pa­gan­da.”

PNM MPs didn’t re­spond to Mooni­lal’s state­ment.
