The third tranche of As­traZeneca vac­cines through CO­V­AX is ex­pect­ed to ar­rive in this coun­try on Wednes­day.

Ac­cord­ing to a sched­ule on the Pan Amer­i­can Health Or­gan­i­sa­tion’s web­site yes­ter­day, these dos­es are ex­pect­ed to ar­rive on Wednes­day at 2.30 am. Guardian Me­dia was un­able to con­firm if this date of re­ceipt is guar­an­teed from Min­is­ter of HealthTer­rence Deyals­ingh since he did not re­spond to our mes­sages.

Some 33,600 dos­es are ex­pect­ed to ar­rive.

Thus far this coun­try has re­ceived two ship­ments of vac­cines through the CO­V­AX fa­cil­i­ty.

The first ar­rived on March 31.

Mean­while, yes­ter­day there ap­peared to be quite an in­ter­est from cit­i­zens to re­ceive a jab from the 82,030 Ox­ford-As­traZeneca dos­es re­ceived from Cana­da.

Just three hours af­ter the web­site opened up there were some 12,660 vis­i­tors to the site.

How­ev­er, of­fi­cials said, as of 3 pm yes­ter­day 4,662 peo­ple booked ap­point­ments to get vac­ci­nat­ed.

The num­ber of peo­ple de­mand­ing a dose of Ox­ford-As­traZeneca is ex­pect­ed to grow larg­er in the com­ing days, how­ev­er, on­ly some 41,015 peo­ple will be able to re­ceive a dose with the rest be­ing re­tained for their sec­ond dose.
