A Mor­vant man is in sta­ble con­di­tion af­ter he was shot by po­lice af­ter re­port­ed­ly point­ing a gun at of­fi­cers on an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise on Sun­day af­ter­noon.

Po­lice said of­fi­cers of the North East­ern Di­vi­sion Gang In­ves­ti­ga­tion Unit were walk­ing through sev­er­al bushy tracks in Cale­do­nia around 2.10 pm, when they saw two men, one of whom had a gun.

The of­fi­cers called on both men to stop and drop the gun, how­ev­er, the sus­pect re­port­ed­ly point­ed the weapon at the po­lice.

Of­fi­cers shot at the man, hit­ting him, and caus­ing him to drop the gun.

The wound­ed sus­pect and his ac­com­plice re­port­ed­ly ran from po­lice, how­ev­er, the bleed­ing man was found at a near­by hos­pi­tal.

Of­fi­cers of the North East­ern Di­vi­sion Crime Scene In­ves­ti­ga­tions (CSI) Unit vis­it­ed the scene and col­lect­ed ev­i­dence.
