A Morvant man is in stable condition after he was shot by police after reportedly pointing a gun at officers on an anti-crime exercise on Sunday afternoon.
Police said officers of the North Eastern Division Gang Investigation Unit were walking through several bushy tracks in Caledonia around 2.10 pm, when they saw two men, one of whom had a gun.
The officers called on both men to stop and drop the gun, however, the suspect reportedly pointed the weapon at the police.
Officers shot at the man, hitting him, and causing him to drop the gun.
