In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing in­to the death of a woman who col­lapsed and died min­utes af­ter she emerged from the sea in Ch­aguara­mas on Wednes­day.

The woman was iden­ti­fied as Sta­cy John­son, 40, of Cassy Street, Mor­vant.

Po­lice said John­son had been en­joy­ing a sea bath in the vicin­i­ty of the Board­walk, Ch­aguara­mas, around 6.15 pm on Ju­ly 23 when she came out of the wa­ter and sud­den­ly col­lapsed on the sand.

Two beach­go­ers rushed to her as­sis­tance and placed John­son on a chair. She com­plained of chest pains. They told po­lice the Mor­vant res­i­dent said she had a blood clot in her chest, and up­on stand­ing, fell to the ground.

As the two rushed to help her up, John­son lost signs of con­scious­ness.

Sev­er­al at­tempts to re­vive her proved fu­tile as she re­mained un­re­spon­sive.

Of­fi­cers from the West End Po­lice Sta­tion ar­rived around 7 pm, fol­lowed by the Emer­gency Health Ser­vices at 8.05 pm.

John­son was lat­er pro­nounced dead at the scene.
