Investigations are continuing into the death of a woman who collapsed and died minutes after she emerged from the sea in Chaguaramas on Wednesday.
The woman was identified as Stacy Johnson, 40, of Cassy Street, Morvant.
Police said Johnson had been enjoying a sea bath in the vicinity of the Boardwalk, Chaguaramas, around 6.15 pm on July 23 when she came out of the water and suddenly collapsed on the sand.
Two beachgoers rushed to her assistance and placed Johnson on a chair. She complained of chest pains. They told police the Morvant resident said she had a blood clot in her chest, and upon standing, fell to the ground.
As the two rushed to help her up, Johnson lost signs of consciousness.
Several attempts to revive her proved futile as she remained unresponsive.
Officers from the West End Police Station arrived around 7 pm, followed by the Emergency Health Services at 8.05 pm.
Johnson was later pronounced dead at the scene.
