Barataria/San Juan MP Saddam Hosein says residents of North Trinidad inclusive of his constituents have been experiencing an unacceptable and insufferable situation where they have been left without water for the last 96 hours.

In a media release MP Hosein said this continuing state of affairs is "undesirable and intolerable."

He said "WASA’s communication has collapsed by failing to provide proper and effective updates to keep the population informed about the on-going repairs which is responsible for the disruption of a pipe borne water supply to residents of Barataria/ San Juan and surrounding areas. The sporadic press releases are insufficient. The hosting of a press conference with the repairs taking place in the background means absolutely nothing if WASA is unable to provide a date on which customers are expected to receive water in their taps."

He said the information being provided by WASA that it cannot provide a timeline when water will be restored is totally unacceptable and woefully inadequate in its communication to members of the public.
