A 33-year-old Cocorite man was shot and killed while sitting in his car in the parking lot of Superpharm in Diego Martin on Sunday afternoon.
Police said Nester Sammy, alias ‘Pappi’, was in the driver’s seat of his white Suzuki Grand Vitara at Superpharm’s Sierra Leone Drive branch at around 6.40 pm, when a white Hyundai Elantra pulled up nearby.
A gunman got out the car and shot Sammy several times through the door. The gunman then got back in the Elantra and drove off.
Officers of the Western Division Task Force and the West End Police Station were called in with a district medical officer, who declared Sammy dead.
Police found a revolver and three live rounds of .38 ammunition at the scene.
Sammy was charged with the murder of Shaquime Williams in 2019.
He was also arrested when he was found with eight semi-automatic pistols and over 3,200 rounds of assorted ammunition at an apartment in the HDC’s Victoria Keyes Apartment Tower 2 in Diego Martin on March 9.
Officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region I are continuing enquiries.
