The Children’s Life Fund Authority (CLFA) has announced the appointment of a new Board of Management for a three-year term, effective 24th October 2025. The Board will be chaired by Dr. Kevon Dindial.
Dr. Dindial is a Consultant Paediatric Haematologist/Oncologist at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex. He holds an MBBS and DM in Paediatrics from The University of the West Indies, St Augustine. He completed a clinical fellowship in paediatric haematology/oncology at the Hospital for Sick Children, Canada, and is board-certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Dr. Dindial serves as co-lead physician for the SickKids-Caribbean Initiative in Trinidad and Tobago, a Council Member of the Medical Board of Trinidad and Tobago, and a member of the National Cancer Control Coordinating Committee.
In his statement following the appointment, Dr. Dindial said it was an honour to lead the CLFA’s Board of Management. He expressed commitment to advancing the organisation’s mandate and ensuring that children with complex medical conditions have access to advanced medical treatment.
Other members of the Board of Management are Stephanie Toolsie, Afeisha Petal Sampson, Dianne Baker-Henry, Matthew Allahar, Dr. Rajindra Parag, and Nabila Greene.
The new Board will guide the CLFA’s strategic priorities, strengthen partnerships, and work to ensure that children and families continue to receive support. The group’s combined experience and knowledge are expected to contribute to the organisation’s ongoing efforts to provide access to medical care for children requiring treatment not available locally.
Chief Executive Officer Vernessar Cummings welcomed the new Board and said she looks forward to working with its members to advance the organisation’s mission.
The CLFA’s work has been supported by recent amendments to the Children’s Life Fund Act, which were assented to on 11th July 2025. These amendments have expanded the organisation’s mandate and strengthened its ability to deliver medical assistance to children in need across Trinidad and Tobago.
