Min­is­ter of Fi­nance, Dav­en­dranath Tan­coo, has pre­sent­ed in­stru­ments of ap­point­ment to new mem­bers of the Board of Di­rec­tors of First Cit­i­zens Hold­ings Lim­it­ed.

The Gov­ern­ment ap­proved the fol­low­ing ap­point­ments to the Board of Di­rec­tors:

The pre­sen­ta­tion took place at a for­mal cer­e­mo­ny at­tend­ed by rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the Min­istry of Fi­nance and First Cit­i­zens Hold­ings Lim­it­ed. The ap­point­ments are ef­fec­tive im­me­di­ate­ly and mem­bers are ex­pect­ed to par­tic­i­pate in up­com­ing board meet­ings and cor­po­rate plan­ning ses­sions.

The Board of Di­rec­tors will over­see cor­po­rate gov­er­nance, strate­gic plan­ning, and op­er­a­tional de­ci­sion-mak­ing at First Cit­i­zens Hold­ings Lim­it­ed. The ap­point­ments fol­low the Gov­ern­ment’s ap­proval process for pub­lic sec­tor-re­lat­ed fi­nan­cial in­sti­tu­tions.

The new mem­bers join the com­pa­ny at a time of planned ini­tia­tives and on­go­ing busi­ness op­er­a­tions. They are tasked with con­tribut­ing to the de­vel­op­ment and ex­e­cu­tion of the com­pa­ny’s poli­cies and ob­jec­tives.

The Min­is­ter of Fi­nance em­pha­sised the im­por­tance of the Board’s role in sup­port­ing the com­pa­ny’s man­date and fa­cil­i­tat­ing ef­fec­tive over­sight.

The Board of Di­rec­tors will serve terms ac­cord­ing to the com­pa­ny’s gov­er­nance frame­work and le­gal re­quire­ments.

The cer­e­mo­ny con­clud­ed with the for­mal han­dover of in­stru­ments and a call for col­lab­o­ra­tion among board mem­bers, man­age­ment, and stake­hold­ers.
